Q: File Transfers?

If Airdrop between iOS and OSX isn't supported and Bluetooth is also not supported between systems what's the best way to transfer files between an iOS device and an OSX device e.g. iPad or iPhone and an iMac without physically connecting the two (if that can even be done)

You can look for third party services like Dropbox or OneDrive or some other cloud storage service.

Provided that iCloud works between your OSX and iOS yes. You'd need to research the compatibility. For example, I dont' think it'd work on my old iPad 2.
