I'm a OS X user so it doesn't look like I'll be able to use your VBA scripts...

Offhand I don't know if they could be converted to AppleScript.

Dec 24, 2015 9:59 AM in response to clarryjby Hunger4Cash,I personally just tried ifunbox on my windows 10 computer with and iPhone that is running iOS 9.2 and it worked 1000%. Free and the video provided is straight forward. Aswesome post.
iFunBox is a completely free program for Windows and Mac. I couldn't find a solution in any forums so I went to good old YouTube.
Here's a link to the program: http://www.i-funbox.com/
This is also the YouTube video I watched that led me to the program with instructions on how to use it. I was surprised by how easy it was after downloading heaps of different programs that ultimately would want me to pay to use it completely.
IT IS COMPLETELY FREE AND EASY TO USE! This is the solution that we're all looking for I think.

Okay.
Why would you purchase something that doesn't do what you want?

Apr 7, 2016 3:16 AM in response to coolguy 73by turingtest2,4. wonder where all the media content on the iPhone has gone when iTunes has finished syncing.
Syncing with a new computer may copy out iTunes store purchases, but runs the risk that anything else will be deleted. There are warnings, but people don't always pay heed to them. See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for a comprehensive strategy.

Apr 18, 2016 10:16 PM in response to lydianicoleeeeby JL-Aus,Still having this problem in 2016 and found a solution after googling for 30 minutes.
(iTunes is awful software.
DeTune has been discontinued and doesn't work anymore.)
Here is program I found that worked for me
This program was 100% free and actually worked.
I transferred my old music from my iphone 6 to my new mac.. and vice versa. Without going through the iTunes sync nightmare.
https://www.imobie.com/phonetrans/download.htm
Just be careful not to download the "upgrade trial" if you don't want the extra premium things. If you just want music transfer for 100% free click "continue to phonetrans"
I can't believe this most basic of functionalities isn't built into the iTunes ecosystem. Ridiculous

Jun 27, 2016 11:34 PM in response to lydianicoleeeeby Christian Hannah,In order to transfer music from iPhone 4s to Mac, you can:
1.) Launch TunesGo and Connect iPhone to PC
2.) Choose "Music" and tick the songs you want to transfer. Click "Export" to export to your iTunes Library.
In addition, you can also use AirDrop to figure it out, view more information below.
