Q: New AMD video drivers for DOOM?

The new Doom was released on Friday, and along with it both 3D video card vendors (AMD and Nvidia) have released new versions on their drivers. I'm wanting to get the performance benefits out of the latest AMD drivers on my iMac 5k with R9 M290x. Hitting 40-50 fps appears to only be possible if I shrink the resolution and rendering quality significantly - I'm hoping the new drivers help. I know there are workarounds and hacks to get the iMac to install the non bootcamp drivers, but there is no definitive how to guides or sources for instructions on how to go about this. It's frustrating to not be able to simply install new drivers whenever new updates come along, and instead having to wait while the AMD / Apple partnership lags behind on driver updated by months and months.

What can we do to get Apple / AMD to release new drivers when significant new games come out?

iMac with Retina 5K display, Windows 10

apple don't make amd gpu drivers only amd does that and apple test and verify them as valid bootcamp drivers

it usually only updates when apple release a new version of bootcamp as in bootcamp 5->6 or the likes

I never had success with straying from the apple bootcamp drivers for my amd gpu in windows 7->8->8.1->10

    Hello,

Well, i have this issue too, since Doom seems like running on 1 graphic card on my mac pro 2013 (D300)... I know that macs aren't gaming machine, but i don't want to build a pc computer only to play every 10 year (more or less )...

Apple should push some bootcamp driver update more often, so we are not tempted to switch back to better production machine which could handle gaming aswell...

Whatever, i waited for doom for like 10 years, i guess i will have to wait 6 months more to enjoy it with decent FPS.

PS : If you found any drivers hacks to get more FPS, let me know.
