You can change the resolution by exporting your photo from Photos using a different pixel size.

Select your photo, then use the command "File > Export > Export ... photos".

In the Export panel set the size to "Custom" and select a max width of 640.

Great Thanks. Now that I've exported photos, where do I find them?  We've only had this Mac a couple of months. It's so different from our old computer.  Not used to this format.

When you use "File > Export", you first select the quality and pixel size, as shown above. The next panel will be the file chooser.

There you select the destination folder where you want the photos to be saved  to.

Select a new folder on your Desktop so you can access the photos easily.

I must be doing something wrong. Everytime I export them it does ask for a file to put them into, it just exports them and I can't access them at all.  Do you have any other tricks up your sleeve to help me?

Don't you see a panel like this? Select where you want to put the photos from the top menu, where it says "Desktop" in my screenshot.  You can also select a different folder in the sidebar. Then click "New Folder" to create a new folder for the exported photos.

Do the photos not appear in the folder you exported them to, or what is the problem?
