Q: Audio playback not working in iphone5s recorded videos?

Hello guys, I just got back home from a concert and went to play back my recorded videos and the first half of them recorded perfectly. The last half of the videos however, the audio was completely gone other than some static noise that you can only hear when you turn the volume all the way up, but the video itself was perfect. I also just recorded a quick random video to test it out and see if it would work or not and the audio was perfectly fine again. I'm so confused and upset because the music to my favorite songs didn't record. Does anyone know what the problem could be? And is there anyway to recover any of the audio? All help is greatly appreciated.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9

    Hello there Wanderlust007,

It sounds like you are unable to record audio consistently because some of the recordings have static instead if they have audio at all. I would start by troubleshooting the software on your phone because this could be either that or a hardware issue. To start quit the Camera and the Settings apps:

Force an app to close in iOS

    1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
    2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
    3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities, let us know how that goes!
