Mar 16, 2014 3:43 PM in response to King_Penguinby Amiram.l,King_Penguin,
I found no hidden content but, as you suggested, I logged out and in and now it works!
Two last questions:
1. Will I be able to watch a rented movie I downloaded to my Mac on my iPad as well?
2. What isthe difference between "authorized devices" (it shows that I have 3 devices but doesn't specify who they are) and "managed devices" (it shows who they are and specify them in a way I could recognize them)?
Many thanks for all your assistance!

Mar 17, 2014 12:51 AM in response to Amiram.lby King_Penguin,A rented film can only be on one computer/device at a time, but you should be able to move it from your Mac to your iPad - that is done in a similar to how you'd select and sync and film from your computer to your iPad (i.e. select the iPad's Movies tab) but instead of them being synced/copied they are moved instead. If you rent and download a film directly on your iPad then you can only watch it on that iPad
From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657 :
- If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
- If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
Only computer's are authorised/deauthorised, iPads (and iPhones and iPod Touches) aren't. You can have your iTunes account authorised on up to 5 computers at a time - so you can play your music, films etc on up to 5 computers. Authorising and deauthorising : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
The 'manage devices' section can include computers and iPads (and iPhones and iPod Touches). They will show in there (or should show) if you use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or redownload past purchases on them. You can have up to 10 managed computers/devices - but as a computer also needs to be authorised, at most 5 of the 10 will be computers. Associating a computer/device : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

May 21, 2016 7:05 AM in response to King_Penguinby StevieJsez,So I go on an old computer using XP and find a TON of music on my itunes there that was legit purchased (did not connect with internet) and now don't see any of it on today's purchased list! What gives and how do I recover that music to my new devices?

May 21, 2016 10:23 AM in response to StevieJsezby King_Penguin,If the music is in the My Music section of your computer's iTunes library then connect your devices and select and sync the music to them.
iTunes purchased music won't show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store app for redownloading directly on a device if it's no longer in your country's store or you've moved countries since buying it (nor if you've hidden it from the cloud).
