Q: Touch ID Not Working after iOS 9.3.2 Update -iPhone 6

Hi,

Last night I updated my operating system to iOS 9.3.2. After the update my Touch ID no longer worked. I removed all fingerprints and tried to re-add my finger prints. When I did this I got the following error:  I have also tried to restart my iPhone but still no luck.

What happens when you do as it said and try again later?

Try a Forced Restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. You will not lose anything. Then gently clean the area with a soft cloth and try again.

Step #1. Launch Settings → Scroll down to tap on Touch ID and Passcode. Enter your passcode.

Step #2. Turn OFF iPhone Unlock and iTunes & App Store.

Step #3. Press home button to return to home screen and then restart your iPhone by pressing sleep/wake button and home button.

Step #4.  Launch Settings → Scroll down to tap on Touch ID and Passcode. Enter your passcode.

Step #5. Turn ON iPhone Unlock and iTunes & App Store.

Step #6. Tap on Add a Fingerprint… and add another finger as usual.

With the above steps Touch ID will start working properly.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me.  I've tried it three times on my 6S+ to no avail.

    Any other ideas?

None of the above worked for me. However I was abl to fix the problem by restoring my iPhone through iTunes. Just make sure you back up your phone before you do the restore. After the restore your phone is exactly like before. Hopefully this works for everyone!

I had the same problem. This is what apple support suggested and it worked for me:

What we'd like for you to do is completely wipe your iPhone hard drive, set it up as a new iPhone, then see if you're able to enroll your fingerprints again. The directions on how to do this are below:

    1. Make sure iTunes is updated to the latest version on your computer. If iTunes hasn't been installed  on your Mac or PC, please download and install iTunes from here: itunes.com.

To see if you've got the latest version:

-On a Mac click on iTunes from the menu bar menu and choose "Check for Updates...".

-On a PC click on Help at the top of the iTunes menu bar and choose "Check for Updates...". If an update is found and installed, please restart your PC before continuing.

    2. Transfer Purchases - apple.co/1TthiU1

    3. Import Photos - apple.co/1TVnl1Z

    4. Back Up - Use article apple.co/1QbHq1x  -- Since erasing your device through iTunes removes even the operating system, failure to back up your phone will result in data loss.

    5. Restore your iOS device - apple.co/1L6v9g4

This time through the restore process, set up your iOS device as new and not restore your back up just yet. If the issue is resolved, go ahead and restore your device from your back up -- apple.co/219Afdq

I'm having this same problem on my iPhone 6. I tried a forced restart and it didn't work. I'd really rather not go through the hassle of restoring my phone to fix this. Is there anything else I can do? Might this be fixed with an upcoming iOS update?

Sams problem here, my battery started to fail at the same time. I am getting about half a day from a 6 month old iphone 6s. Have restored to factory reset and erased the phone and set up as a new phone no luck at all. I have gone back to my iphone 5 to get a stable useful device. To say I am a little upset is a undr statement.

My 5S has exactly the same problem too since 9.3.2  same error message. I've tried the hard reset method and this didn't work Either. Restoring completely the phome freaks me out - is there any patch programmed by apple ?

    Same problems.

On my iPhone6 (one year and two months of life), the battery drains out even in flight mode (from 96% to 42% in three hours without even turning on the screen once), and most of all the Touch ID doesn't work.

I tried to reboot, I tried the complete backup and complete restore of my iPhone, it doesn't work.

Since I paid a lot of money for the device, 'd like it to work for a little more than one year.

Please update the software and fix the bugs.

It's really annoying, normal users shouldn't be considered beta testers!
