Q: keyboard midi setup MIDI ERROR

I have a Roland RD170 Stage keyboard (old I know) on MainStage 3. I am new to mainstage and having trouble with the midi signal from my RD170 to Mainstage. I practice with my Rd-170 at home but play on a Casio Privia (new keyboard) at church. The new keyboard operates fine but my old does something screwy. When I play a chord, it plays the chord twice -- once I press the chord and then again when i release the buttons. and after releasing the button, one of the chorded notes sustains...

I made sure that both my keyboards do not share the same Midi Channel (casio is on 1 and RD170 is on 3). But it still doesn't resolve the problem. Can anyone wlak me through to resolve my issue?

Mac mini, iOS 9.3.2

It sounds like a MIDI feedback problem. Disconnect the MIDI cable going to the MIDI IN port on the Roland. If that doesn't fix it, the problem could be in your MIDI to USB cable. What MIDI to USB cable or interface do you use?

    Thanks lifenoise for your response.

VicTsing USB IN-OUT MIDI Cable Converter PC to Music Keyboard Adapter Cord.  I have the midi out/in cable to usb connected between the keyboard and Mac Mini.  I have tried disconnecting the in side of the midi cable and still have the issue.

Thanks Lifenoise... You made me look closer at my cables... Apparently I bought the wrong cable and it is not compatible to MAC.   I'll give you an update when I get a new cable to see if it work or not...

    Thanks again

NO Lifenoise. The midi cable was not the issue. I changed it out for a Hosa USM-422. I do't know what could be the problem. I followed the instructions included with the cable to map the exernal device to the USB 2.0 connection in the Midi setup window.
