Q: Can't add movies to Itunes 12.4.0.119

I'm running a Mac with OSX El Capitan v 10.11.4 and auto updated Itunes.

Ever since the update I cant add downloaded movies anymore.

I've tried

- 'Click 'n Drag' and 'Add to Library'

- Shut down and restarted both the Mac and Itunes separately

- Googled solutions but not much help there (mostly older versions or Windows questions)

- Looked on this site but unless i'm using the wrong search words... nothing shows

Has anyone found a solution?

Regard

I had the same problem.  I discovered that the sidebar now has a new listing in the Library called "Home Videos" below Recently Added, Movies, and Genres.  This is where all the videos I added to the library were showing up.  Only the ones I downloaded from iTunes store are showing up under Movies where everything used to be.  If you can't see it, make sure "Movies" is selected in the drop down menu at the top left of the window, just below the play arrow.

    All the best,

Cheers Kevin. That is what I was missing. :-/

i just wished that Apple wouldn't radically change ITunes layout so often.

Having same issue via iTunes 12.4.3.1. Add to Library menu command or manually dragging my .mp4v video clip fails to appear in the Movies section in iTunes - have checked the Home Movies, Recently Added, Movies, Genre view but nothing... What's odd is I can right-click and Open the clips per my iMovie version and they play just fine - just won't append to the my iTunes Movies list... Help!!??

Adding videos to iTunes is always a pain. I use a third party app that takes care of converting or remuxing to make the video compatible. For instance VideoDrive also downloads subtitles, artwork and descriptions while adding movies and TV shows to iTunes. Very easy.
