How do i go from watching Apple TV back to watching TV (cable) without switching remotes?

Since the Apple TV remote has limited functionality geared strictly towards the Apple TV you can't do much with it.

 

If your TV or your Cable Box came with a "learning" remote you may be able to assign buttons on that remote to mimic the functionality of the Apple TV remote.

 

Of course you won't be able to mimic the swipe functions or Siri voice commands but you may be able to get enough functionality for 90% of the navigation of the Apple TV interface.

 

If the other remotes you have are limited as well the other alternative is to look into getting a third party remote like a Harmony learning remote. They have a lot more flexibility for functionality like this.

    You cant.  The feature that switches the TV on and the input to tha ATV is nice, but it is not able to remember what the original setting was and go back.
