Q: Safari Web Content (Not Responding)
I am running OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks). I've been having issues on my 17" Unibody MacBook Pro (Late 2009) with Safari, and Safari Web Content (Not Responding). I have noticed this to happen in large part to Facebook, but it also happens to other websites even when Facebook is not running. I have to keep Activity Monitor open constantly to switch back and forth so i can Force Quit those unresponsive processes.
I first started out by restoring my system from a Time Machine backup but and it kept happening, so i thought it was something with my Time Machine Backup...so yesterday i spent the entire day and i wiped my computer clean, and only put my needed documents back on and ONLY had Apple Software installed. I had not installed any 3rd party apps at this point. I also have no extensions or plug-ins installed either.
I am still having these issues even after the clean installation. So - is it something with Safari by itself? Is it something corrupt on a system that was just wiped clean? I don't know where to begin with this.
I decided that if Safari was continuing to do this that i would install Firefox. I couldn't even get Firefox to work at all without it hanging upon launch.
What could possibly be the problem? It only seems to be web browsers, i have not had this issue with any other apps.
Would somebody please be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks!
