Q: MBA crashes less than 15 minutes after starting a video (netflix, youtube, FaceTime, etc)
10.11.4 (15E65)
MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2014)
1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Macintosh HD
Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB
Pretty much what the title says. Every time I watch youtube or netflix my computer freezes up and the pinwheel starts spinning, usually within 5-15 minutes of starting the video. It just says like that until I hold down the power button to restart it.
At first I thought I must have had too many tabs or programs open, but it happens even when I don't have a single thing open other than the video. Sometimes it produces a crash report when I restart, but sometimes it doesn't.
It's not just videos though. I use Scrivener, a word processing program a fair bit. If I just have scrivener and maybe one Safari tab open it's alright, but Scrivener + two or three tabs will make it crash sooner or later. I'm not sure if I'm expecting too much of my computer here, I know MBA's aren't powerhouses. Is it normal to not be able to run Safari and a word processor at the same time? That said, the problem is definitely most apparent when I'm trying to watch youtube or netflix.
Any help? I have no idea what to do.
Here's a crash report from today:
