Q: Keyboard stopped working in terminal until I click the mouse in the terminal OSX

Somehow late last week I fat fingered something while working in a terminal and the keyboard doesn't show anything when I type until I click the mouse button.

I tried the reset command but that didn't fix the problem.

It is so weird I don't even know how to properly describe the problem. There should be an easy to understand term to describe this, like tonsillitis.

Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Okay, last week when this happened, I killed and restarted the window. I have had a python script running to try and figure out what is hijacking my focus when my focus gets hijacked and tried to see if there was anything within that that might give me a clue.  Then I went back to the window I had tried to reset and it was working again.

Very confusing. Maybe the reset command was time delayed?

Happened again this morning. I wish I knew what insane combination of mouse and key I am pushing to get this to happen and figure out how to ifix it without having to kill and restart the window.

This didn't actually solve the problem. Apple's website just confused me into clicking on the "solved" button.
