May 17, 2016 2:13 PM in response to Usuallynoproblemsby Bill Nowlin,I am having the same problem, now May 2016. It's really appalling that Apple would let this performance persist. It is affection my iPhone - things deleted come back, presumably because the web service times out.
Here's a very boring video showing over 40 seconds to delete on email using the web interface.

May 17, 2016 8:36 PM in response to Bill Nowlinby zinacef,A couple of options --
- try rebuilding the mailbox (if you haven't already) - Mail (Mountain Lion): Rebuild mailboxes
- reindex message - for El Capitan, try looking in V3 -- Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support
- reindex message (option 2) - see post by Linc Davis -- Email messed up ever since upgrading to Yosemite. The mail icon remains on the toolbar and I can open if I click into full screen and read the emails. I cannot send any emails. This is a huge problem.
If those options don't work, you could try reaching out to Apple Support.
I have seen this ongoing problem continue to persist, and folks continue to complain about it, so my last suggestion would be to consider using another email provider.
Good luck!

May 23, 2016 9:15 AM in response to zinacefby Bill Nowlin,Thank you. As noted in the other thread, the problem has been resolved somehow, in the middle of the night. As far as I can tell, nothing I did affected or caused the resolutions. Thank you for your time and comments.
