Q: 60w magsafe and failing battery question
My sons 13" Macbook Pro (Mid 2010) battery is at 984 cycles and really needs replacing. This we understand.
In addition, his 60w magsafe adapter failed the other day and he purchased a new one. However, it does not seem to charge his battery properly but seems to work OK on my 13" Macbook Pro (Mid 2011) which has a battery cycle count under 500. However, when he uses an 85w MagSafe Adapter on his MB Pro it charges ok and seems to work fine.
So, the question is whether or not there might be a problem with the new 60w adapter or not.
Would using an 85W magsafe adapter charge the battery better if the battery is failing or is there no correlation?
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks,
MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), Mid 2010
