Q: This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

I just bought a brand new MacBook Air.  I created a brand new Apple ID that is only signed in on that computer.  I am getting the error message, "This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled" when I try to update anything (i.e. iPhoto, Garageband, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iTunes, etc.).  Been getting the error for a few days now, starting on the day I purchased the laptop.  Not sure why I'm getting this error with a brand new laptop and brand new Apple ID.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

I have a permanent update available for Garageband, and when I try to update I get the same error message as the OP. I looked for any purchases and there's none. I also tried to unhide any purchases, and there's none. Which makes sense, as the only app's I've bought for my Mac are the Adobe CC apps. Can you suggest any other solutions for me please Dahveed?
