Q: Have Done Literally Everything, Still Cannot Connect
Obligatory:
• Model: iPhone 5s 16GB
• Software: iOS 9.3.1, but same issue previously on 9.2.something
• Service provider(s): Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt
For about two weeks now, I've been getting the 'Cannot Activate Cellular Network' message. I still get a few bars, and sometimes it tells me I even have 3G(!), however, I am unable to make or receive calls, send or receive texts, or use data services. (I should say, I will get maybe an hour and a half every other day where it works completely fine, but sadly the problem is persistant).
I have done the following steps:
• Restarted iPhone;
• Checked for Carrier Setting updates;
• Played with roaming, carrier settings, airplane mode, in countless permutations;
• Reset network settings;
• Asked my service provider for a new SIM card;
• (My service provider then broke my SIM tray, so I got my SIM tray fixed);
• Performed a factory reset on my phone;
• Updated my software to latest iOS;
• Bought a new SIM card from a new service provider;
• Repeated the resets and restarts above ad infinitum.
iPhone still appearing to show a network, bars, signal etc, but still unable to connect to a network—again, still no calls, texts, data, except for about 1 hour a day.
At this point, feel like throwing my phone into the bottom of the sea. Any helpful suggestions?
Thanks!
iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.1
