Q: I am connected to the hotel wifi network, but the login screen does not appear.

Hi,

I am connected to my hotel wifi network, but the login screen does not appear. I am able to access the login page on my PC, but on the iPhone it does not appear and just tries to connect to the webpage (e.g. google.co.uk), and eventually gives up. I've tried opening pages in Safari and Chrome, but none cause the login screen to appear. I have also tried trying to log into the login page that the PC opens when connected to the wifi, but the same thing happens. I am using a iPhone 3G with the latest iOS version 6.0.1.

Is there a way to make the iPhone try to open the login page?

Ben.

The skype wifi app was the culprit for me.  Once I deleted it, I was able to connect to the hotel wifi immediately. Thanks for your help.

I Had the exact same issue reported here at hotel that requires browser logon.  iphone and iPad pro log on fine. I tried to login with a new iPad Mini 4 and the safari login screen would not come up.  I entered the complete Google address (http://www.google.com) in the browser and up came the hotel logon screen.

    Brilliant Fanfoot!

I had tried all the other tips in this string, plus a few more of the more annoying kind. Nothing worked. Then I removed Boingo at your suggestion, and BAM! it worked.

Never getting Boingo back on my phone or other devices!!!

It can also be something that is not app specific, but DNS server settings that were added *by* an app.  Here's a general "how to fix this" article here

Just had to login to say a big THANK YOU  to Fanfoot. Been having this issue for over a month and it was driving me crazy. Uninstalled the Boingo app and it immediately started working again. Thanks again!

This solution from rorford worked for me just now. I have been having this problem for several months at hotels, never able to solve it. None of the other solutions worked for me, and I tried *all* of them...multiple times. I have iPass and immediately after setting an auto login exclusion for this hotel network in iPass, it worked! Thanks rorford!

I have tried everything listed here. I don't have the "auto-login" or "auto-join" settings on my phone. I have an iPhone 6s, and the software is updated to 9.3.3. I am EXTREMELY frustrated and do not have cellular data to spare. This is absolutely ridiculous, is there anything else I could try?

Okay, here's what I had to do with IT's help. I am on a campus network that has an open network and a secure network. I typically would use the secure system due to greater bandwidth, and my iPhone 6 would prompt me to authorize via username and password. The PW was my employee master login. Today I just happened to hit the autofill button to see if it had remembered the user/pass to speed login, after which it would only ask for a password. I assumed incorrectly that it was autofilling something or nothing into the user field, thus making it impossible for me to login. I tried everything in this thread, and finally called IT. What actually happened was that hitting autofill kicked me out of a first level of authentication on the system which was autofilling and was thus transparent. The network isn't visible unless you have this initial WPA2 authentication. Entering that password first brought me back to the authentication screen where my user/pw worked fine. I'm thinking others are having a similar issue, so think one tier higher if having difficulty. TY
