Q: 20" Display to New Mac Mini

Bought a new mac mini ( 2.6 16GB & 1TB) and have an old 20" cinema display. I have acquired the ADC adapter to power the monitor. Question is on the cable from the ADC adapter is a plug with 2 groups of 9 pins and one horizontal tongue. The New Mac mini model 1437 comes with no cables, except power cord. I got a DVI-I to HDMI but the pins don't line up. Help???? I went to 2 mac stores and neither could answer the question- sale reps were clue less did know older Mac items.

Mac mini, iOS 9.3.2, want to connect a 20 inch cinema dy

Your best chance is to search for it on eBay. This is very old equipment. For the money you spent on the adapter and the cable, you could likely be able to buy a new monitor.

This "2 groups of 9 pins and one horizontal tongue" is DVI-D (digital). It should plug into a DVI-I (integrated) connector since integrated includes both digital and analogue.

The HDMI outlet is only digital.

    You said "I got a DVI-I to HDMI "

Do you mean a HDMI (you plug into the HDMI port of your Mac)?

What does the DVI connector look like? Why will it not mate with the DVI connector on the ADC converter? Wrong gender? Pin problem?
