May 27, 2016 1:26 AM in response to LACAllenby VeryLongTimeAppleEater,Thanks for your input. It's not a question about "specific features" of the keyboard... It's about guaranteed compatibility i.e. about will it work at all? will it work correctly? or will the user be in need to search some kind of *hacks" to make use of his new hardware. there are plenty of posts complaining about keyboards not working as expected.

May 27, 2016 1:56 AM in response to VeryLongTimeAppleEaterby LACAllen,OK... I am not aware of any new features in El Capitan that would be enhanced by a specific keyboard feature and thought maybe I missed something.
I have both a Bluetooth Apple keyboard and a wireless 2.4GHZ Logitech on iMacs updated to 10.11.5 and have not seen anything behave differently yet.

Mac OS XIf the keyboard requires you install some sort of driver to make their keyboard work, you would have to check on the manufacturers website to see if they have updated software for El Capitan. If it is just a basic keyboard without any "hot keys" or "macros" then it would likely work out of the box. Even the programmable keyboards would likely work out of the box, but any of their special functions would not.

Servers EnterpriseIn general PC keyboards will work on a Mac, Apple even provide a PC keyboard layout in their settings. The Apple/Command key is replaced by the Windows key.
Note: The phrase BYODKM was originated by Steve Jobs when the Mac mini (Intel) was launched because it did not come with a keyboard or mouse and was aimed at encouraging existing Windows PC users to replace their computer with a Mac mini and use their existing PC keyboard and mouse with the new Mac mini. See http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=BYODKM
It is even possible to use a genuine Apple keyboard on a PC although the likelihood of some keys not mapping correctly is a bit higher.
If you want a keyboard specifically designed for use with Macs the following all count.

Logitech also have some Mac specific keyboards, see this as an example http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/wireless-solar-keyboard-k750-mac
Microsoft do not have Mac specific keyboards but theirs do work although you have to use the Windows key as described above.
