Q: Converted Files Not Allowing For Multicam Clip
Hi,
I asked the following question last night: Converting MTS To Apple ProRes 422 HQ In Compressor
Thanks for all your help and advice. However, I have a new problem.
I used EditReady to convert my files from MTS to H.264 for editing. As I mentioned, converting the files to Apple ProRes made each file around 8 times larger than the already huge MTS files.
The issue I'm having is that I can't use the current H.264 file format for multicam editing. My Angle Viewer is all set, but when I create a new multicam clip (in my case, using just 2 angles) only one of the angles is showing. If I double click on the multicam clip in the timeline, I still only get one angle. It's as though FCP is disregarding the second clip.
I have tried reconverting the file and have even tried working in another project, but I keep getting the same results. Am I missing something simple?
The good news is, the file conversion solved an earlier issue I had of audio popping on the file.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

How are you syncing the clips? Have you assigned angle numbers to the clips so that the application knows they';re not the from the same "camera." If you're using converted media they will have identical camera metadata so FCP will assume they're from the same source and not separate sources.
