Q: ipad pro 9.7 update 9.3.2 issue

Today when I tried to update my IPad with the 9.3.2 update over wifi, after downloading the update and the install started like usual. Upon rebooting, I get the Connect to iTunes screen. I connect my iPad to iTunes and try to update it, says update failed and that I need to do a restore. The restore fails (error code 56). I tried all of the fixes from the help page with no luck. Any suggestions or do I need to send off my iPad for repair?

Thanks

iPad Pro, iOS 9.3.2

Not for me.  I called Thursday and was told it would ship Friday "Express replacement".  Talked to Level 2 yesterday.  Said it would ship today.  Still has not shipped out.  Very very disappointed in Apple.

If it was my bad for breaking it, then I'm mad at me.  I use this expressly for work.  Note taking, etc.

Makes me want to go back to that "S" company...

It is not for other users to determine what someone can or can't say.

I simply referred you to the ToU - did you read them? If you haven't, please do, in particular Section 2.1 - 2.3.

Actually Apple does look at these forums, they usually (but not always) decline to comment

You're entitled to your opinion. I'm sure you think you know best. I'd be interested in a couple of links where Apple has responded to a technical question.

    I am done here.

Yes I read them, and as I said it is Apple"s place to moderate the forums. And yes, from time to time an Apple engineer or community member has responded with assistance. If reading posts from people who are upset bothers you, there is an easy solution, don't read them.

We are not the ones breaking the ToS. Why should we avoid the forum because you are in the wrong. Also, I have been told many times from Apple Support that they do not read these community forums. I am not sure if you are just making that up or are misinformed. If you wish to give support in the form of letting people know that you tried something and it failed than that is perfectly fine and within the ToS. But, there is no need for the extra speculation and anger to go with it. You have no idea what Apple has, is, or will be trying to do to solve the problem. So giving angry misinformation leads people to the wrong conclusion. They are working on a fix and that is the last thing I have heard about it. I will post another update once the fix is out and I try it.

I was foolish in that I didn't have all my stuff synced with iCloud apart from one really important project that I can still access on my Mac.  I'm switching to using another office iPad for one more week to see if they update without me having to lose everything,

It's awfully quiet about this still.  Are there people holding on to their bricked iPads or did everyone replace them?

Same here.  Problem updating on a Wednesday, received FedEx box and sent out on Thursday, Apple received my iPad on Friday, I got my new replacement on Monday.  I have it now, running on 9.3.1, and I am not in a hurry to update.  When a new 9.3.2 shows up, I'll wait and see how it goes for other owners.

Glad you have had a better experience.  They are still telling me depot is out of my model and they have to replace it with the exact same one down to the color.  Guess that's what I get for getting the Verizon one.

I had same problem. Unfortunately, your going to have to get a new one from Apple Store. I bought mine from Verizon Wireless and it was less than 20 days old, so I brought mine there. no Apple Store near me and have a business acct there. they replaced with new one which I will not update until I hear the announcement that it is fixed. I'm on my Air 2 now. Fortunately, didn't do a trade I.

I don't want this thread to die waiting for an update or fix so I'll keep updating my current status till we know something.

I think we need to start a group therapy discussion for some of you. There is no reason to keep the thread "alive. "

If your iPad is dead Apple WILL replace it so stop waiting and get the @#$@#$@# thing replaced or stop whining about it.

Apple will release the fix when it is ready. The person from Corp. Customer Relations at Apple I've been talking to tells me the next time I see the update post 9.3.2 or higher that it will be safe to install.

Apple already replaced my ipad and it's associated Applecare via a refund and re-purchase - so my warranty clock restarted. I'm happy and plugging along on 9.3.1. It just works.

    dwmreg64,

I have an iPad pro 9.7. I did not update once the reports were out regarding problems with the updates. However, I still get daily messages to update to 9.3.2. Since you have spoken to  customer relations at Apple, how will I know when 9.3.2 is the new version? When I call Applecare, I am told that they know nothing about any problem and I have not found anything official on Apples website.
