May 24, 2016 7:51 PM in response to oliviagtz07by deggie,What happens when you turn it on and try to use it?
-
May 24, 2016 8:05 PM in response to deggieby oliviagtz07,Nothing. I've tried several devices and the hot spot does not appear to be broadcasting, it never shows as a network option to connect to. The little hotspot icon also does not appear on the iPhone's upper corner icon area.

Installed the 9.3.2 update on my iPhone 6S and can no longer use the Personal Hot Spot feature. I have resetting the network settings, reset all settings and finally a complete factor reset with a backup. Any other ideas?
Hi,
iPhone 6s owner here. I'm running on 9.3.2 without this issue and after having performed no troubleshooting. My carrier is AT&T, which provides this provisioning. Considering the length of troubleshooting you have done on the phone itself, have you also reached out to your carrier to have someone in senior level support double check this provisioning for you? I have seen plenty of instances where the timing of such occurrences was entirely coincidental.
I once assisted a woman that was experiencing beeping noises while on phone calls as though someone was punching the keypad. She had replaced the phone already, but the issue continued. She had also restored her iPhone as new, like you have, and the issue was continuing. She had previously spoken to her carrier who didn't seem to know what was going on. It was only after I insisted we try to speak with the carrier again to see if maybe there was something that was missed before. We were put in touch with a senior level advisor who knew exactly what her issue was. At the time, her carrier was performing updates to the towers in her area, and others had made the same reports as she did while these updates were being made. He explained that they didn't have a current understanding of how long it would take to resolve, but that they were aware of it and presently trying to find the solution. He also explained that the lower level advisor simply would not have known about this issue as they do not have the same access to tools and notices as the senior level advisors do.
I hope your issue is resolved soon. I use this feature quite regularly, and know it would be a pain to have to be without it.

May 26, 2016 8:37 AM in response to oliviagtz07by oliviagtz07,My carrier is TMobile. I have spoken to reps and they have verified no issues on their end. The 9.3.2 update has been a bit buggy! I use my personal hotspot quite a bit. Hopefully someone has a resolution soon!

Sorry to hear that then. With that being the case, give Apple a call. Potentially, they may have a watchlist out on such instances in relation to the 9.3.2 update. Glitches don't always affect all users.

May 27, 2016 8:47 AM in response to oliviagtz07by andrus,iOS 9.3.2 broke hotspot for me on 5se
I tried a few things - finally went online with at&t rep - what ultimately did the trick was to reset the network settings on the phone. It then rebooted - I re-entered phone name and re-enabled hotspot and I have connection.

As you had already reset network settings in your original post, they must have done some form of toggling of your provisions on their end to reinstate the service from its temporary disconnection. Changing the name of your iPhone in Settings>General>About has no association with the ability to use hotspot.
Glad it is resolved.
Edit: Whoops! You're not the OP. Resetting Network Settings may have been all that was needed in your particular case then.

Sep 2, 2016 3:10 PM in response to oliviagtz07by Swqualityconsulting,I had this problem, after installing ios 9.3.5. I followed the Apple troubleshooting suggestions but they didnt help. I called my wireless provide (VZ) and they solved the problem. They had me do a full reset on the phone and
they verified that the persinal hotspot feature was enabled for my account. Then they had me change the personal hotspot password. That fixed the problem.

Sep 4, 2016 11:28 AM in response to oliviagtz07by Mrcrowley,Do you have ATT ? and did you get the unlimited Data? If so they say as part of the Unlimited plan you can not use your hotspot AND once you use 22 gg of data of your unlimited(kinda a contradiction of terms)
they slow your Download rate so trying to use your Itunes to stream a movie or music will not work ...
