Q: Mail app shows 3 unread emails when there isn't.

Mine was showing as 1 unread - just went into the inbox on my iphone, clicked 'edit' and then 'mark all as unread'. Then went back in and did the same thing but then marked all as 'read'. This then cleared it straight away!

I had 2 emails that wouldn't go away. Here's the fix: go to email icon app, select the troubling email, click edit (top right corner), at the bottom click mark all, and mark as all read. Viola it's fixed. You welcome.

EASY way to fix this ....

Its called 'Ghost mail'

-GO to settings

-tap MAIL

-Tap your email Account (eg: lisa@hotmail.com)

-Tap DELETE ACCOUNT

now...

-Get out of settings

-GO to the mail app/icon

-select the type of email u have (eg: outlook)

-now enter your email & password

The ghost email will now be gone !!

figured it out in my own and this ghost stuff happens alot with me

I just switched my email off, powered my phone down and back on again, turned my email back on and the ghost messages went away.
