Q: import photo to powerpoint:

The old( easy ) method of click on the icon, "insert picture from file" copy the photo file name, search/find it and insert doesn't work now. The search box can't find the photo name in photo...

what is the best way to insert a photo into powerpoint now?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

What system and iPhoto or Photos application version are you using?

With 10.10.3 came Photos which older 3rd party apps are not compatible with.  With those you'll need to export the photo to the Desktop and add them to PowerPoint from there.  Or upgrade MS Office.

If you're using iPhoto 9.5 or 9.6 you can access an iPhoto library via the Insert ➙ Picture menu option:

    Microsoft PowerPoint001.jpg

thankyou. I am OK with older photos from iPhoto- it is newer ones that are in Photo. It seems that when I try to insert, it just can't find the new files.

I tried  via the desktop, that worked perfectly, thankyou
