Q: HeartRate Monitor & Watch

Hi everyone ..

I take KickBoxing class and I am finding that my watch gets in the way.

I would like to buy a chest heart rate monitor.

What do you recommend?

Will it still log into the activity app ... if i am not wearing the watch?

Thanks

No, but if you get a chest strap pair it with your iPhone and let it record the data.

My issue is somewhat similar. I play racquetball and the watch is way off picking up icalories and steps when playing. If I buy a heart rate monitor and pair to my watch, when I'm playing (wearing my heart rate monitor and watch) will it only pick up from the heart rate monitor? I don't want to get double calories one from the watch and then another from the heart rate monitor Is my concern. And I don't want to spend $60 on a heart rate monitor and find it doesnt' sync the right way with my watch.

No it will only pick up the heart rate from the strap if you pair it.

ok so if it syncs to the phone I don't have to wear the watch.

And it will still log to the activity app and help me complete my circles ?

Is there a monitor that you recommend ?

You might want to look at Wahoo's TICKR line. The chest straps can store data for later syncing with your phone.

I Checked out the  WAhoo TickR , it says it syncs to the Apple Watch. Does that mean I done have to wear he watch ? And it still sends data to the watch instead of the phone.

No, it will also pair to an iPhone or it can just store data and you can sync to the iPhone later.

I only ever pair it to my phone. And it does that quite nicely. The Wahoo Fitness app syncs with Health on my iPhone. I honestly don't know if, should you pair it to your watch, whether or not it will send data to the watch if you're not wearing it. An interesting question.

No, it syncs the information with Health on the iPhone.

    Hello.

Yes you can use a heart rate strap and take off your Apple Watch. You will have to pair the heart rate monitor to your iPhone. After that go to your health app on your iPhone then allow your heart rate strap to allow to update data.
