Q: Where have all my iPhone photos gone

When I open the photos app on my iPhone 5s only my favourites, and a few recent photos and videos (88 in total) are on my phone, but I know I have about 7 thousand photos on my iCloud, and when I login to iCloud.com all my photos are there, is there a way to reset all the photos on my phone, my iPhone 5s is in warranty and up to date, no jailbreaks, the only thing breaking is the most recent iOS because it was fine until my phone practically forced me to update it --- please help I use my photos every day with my work and such and I need all of them to hand.

-- I'm new to this so if I am missing any rules I am terribly sorry

---Thanks in advance xx

If you want the photos on iCloud to sync, do you have iCloud Photo Library enabled?

Yeah, it's all switched on and enabled, just it isn't realising that there are loads of photos on the phone, because I had a look under storage and 2GB is being used up by 'photos' but only 88 photos (no videos) are showing up in the actual app, do you think it could have corrupted it or something

Try resetting the Photos App. Close Photos completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Photos preview pane until it disappears from the screen. Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Thank you, but I have already carried this out and aswell as restarting my phone with the multitask selection cleared -- none of this has fixed it.

To answer your original question, I don't know where your photos went. I would download the photos in iCloud.com to a computer for safekeeping following the instructions below and then try a system restore.

Archive or make copies of your iCloud data - Apple Support

System Restore. First backup your device using iTunes. Try restoring from backup first and testing it. If it does not help, you may have to restore as New and reconfigure from scratch as the backup could be corrupted. For this reason it is important to have your photos and data saved separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a Restore:

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201252

If the above steps do not help, you may have to have it tested at an Apple Store.
