Can you view your calendars using iCloud.com?
If so, Archive or make copies of your iCloud data - Apple Support.
Then, in order to Restore from Time Machine, quit Calendar, and find the "Calendars" Folder in the ~Library Folder. To find the correct Library/Calendars Folder, paste this text ~/Library into the Finder Menu>Go>Go to Folder...window and select "Go." This will open the Users Library Folder where the "Calendars" Folder is located.
Keep that Library window open and replace the "Calendars" Folder from the appropriate Time Line.
Log out/in or restart and open Calendar.

I have an enquiry related to this thread and particularly to Time Machine (TM) And exactly what it backs up. I am aware of the setting of exclusions but I never use it. I therefore assume TM backs up EVERYTHING, or does it?
I have used TM for many years and it has got me out of trouble on numerous occasions. However, I wonder if it can get me out of my current problem?
My problem concerns Calendar and what TM backups up from this App. It is my impression it backs up ALL of the calendars I've created. I have 4 calenders (On My Mac: Home, Work / iCloud: Home, Work). When I've had to Restore the Calendar from TM previously it has returned Calendar to the state I desired. My question concerns whether I can Restore a single calendar, one or more of the 4 mentioned, without having to Restore ALL my calendars?
I have very recently started using the iCloud and 2 of my calendars (iCloud: Home, Work) are now being backed up to the iCloud EXCEPT I thought they were being backed up until I examined my iCloud.com account. My iCloud Calender was empty because of a communication problem - the dreaded Exclamation Mark inside the triangle adjacent to iCloud - now resolved.
if my iCloud calendars (Home, Work) were not being backed up to iCloud because of a communication problem, where/are they still being backed up by TM?
FInding 2 of my calendars missing from Calendar, I wondered if they could be retrieved from TM because clearly a Restore from the iCloud was impossible: these 2 calendars did not exist.
If a Restore of iCloud calendars (Home, Work) is possible from TM, even if it means Restoring the whole of Calendar, can I cut out the 2 missing iCloud calendars and paste them back where they belong?
I refuse to believe these 2 calendars are gone for good and I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of where to look. Thanks in anticipation.
Regards
Phil

I would recommend that you post this question in the appropriate OS X forum. Either OS X El Capitan, OS X Yosemite, or OS X Mavericks, depending upon your installed version of OS X.

You think my enquiry relates to the O/S, in my case the latest El Capitan? I saw it as more relevant to Calendar and Time Machine! However, I could try posting it elsewhere as it would increase my chances of a reply.
Cheers Phil
