Q: My iMac freezes, then does a restart on it's own and then gives an error message sleep/wake failure. Anyone know how to deal with this? I do send Apple the issue. Oh, I am running El Capitan 10.11.5 Thank you.

    By the way, if you are have any antivirus, cleaning or other third party maintenance app installed on the computer that almost certainly is at least partial cause of your  problem. If you do, then locate the developers instructions for uninstalling the app(s) and then restart the computer in Safe Mode and then restart normally and test.

    It seems this is an odd bug a few others have experienced. I suspect it is occurring with your Sleep settings. What I would recommend is first creating a new user account (call it TEST) and do not turn on the sleep settings. Log out of your normal account and then log into the new account and begin testing. If the crashes cease then it's something with your normal user account, and as I suggested possibly your Sleep setting. If you find the test account works okay, then turn off sleep and then see if that handles your problem.
