For some reason, Apple's iCloud can NOT rename the files within iBooks. It will always revert back to the original file name when it was imported.
It's yet another reason why iCloud is horrible when in comes to syncing.

Jun 13, 2016 5:24 AM in response to HeatherLynn415by paulfromhere,Using iOS 9 .3 .2. It's actually worse than you suspect! I have iCloud iBooks disabled. I have created PDFs just like you and renamed them in the iBooks app. When I open the PDF in iBooks I notice a greyed out word "untitled" in the menu bar. I believe that the name is never changing even within the iBooks app. I believe that the only thing that is changing is the directory listing title in the iBooks app. Also, when I email the PDF, the name gets changed back in the attachment to "untitled.pdf". I suspect that your problem in the iCloud it is the same as mine in the email. In my opinion the solution to this is to get the full-fledged PDF viewer and app called PREVIEW from OS X in iOS. It also can be used to fill out and save PDF forms.
