Q: When moving in different time zones how to keep events at the proper time?

When I put an event into PST at the correct time in which it will happen and then change time zones, the event moves to another time. I have not turned on time zone support. Some events move and others keep the appropriate time. How can I have all events keep the appropriate time?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

The events are created in the time zone that the Mac is currently set to regardless of the setting of Time Zone support. When you change the time zone of the Mac, the events will appear to change time since they will now show the event in the current time zone.

    Enabling time zone support:

    • Adds a pop-up menu to the toolbar. You use the menu to change the time zone in which all events are shown. For example, an event set for 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time is shown at 7:00 p.m. GMT.
    • Also lets you set the time zone for each event. For example, if you set an event at 7:00 p.m. GMT, and then choose Pacific Time from the pop-up menu in the toolbar, that event is shown at 12:00 p.m.

I am with my son and he does want me to change time zones like he does when he travels - but what I learned from what you wrote, I now know how to keep everything in the time zone I want - like writing on a paper calendar. I realize that this is not what I am supposed to do but at this point in my life, I like it that way and you have shown me how to do that. Many thanks.
