Nov 10, 2015 3:58 PM in response to Scotch_Brawthby TheCaffiend,★HelpfulI had this problem as well but managed to get it to work eventually! This is based on using a username to login (not linked to an amazon account)...
1. Download audiobook and try to play in iTunes... like you say it links to the US site (grrrr)
2. Click on the 'login using a username' option at the bottom
3. Copy the URL from the site it takes you to and paste into your text editor of choice
4. Open up another browser window and go to the audible.co.uk webpage (if you're logged in log out and go to the page again)
5. On this page again click the login using username option
4. Copy the URL from this page and paste into the text editor... you should now have have all the info you need to generate the correct link!
5. On the original URL change the following:
- change each occurrence of audible.com to audible.co.uk (there should be two)
- further on through the URL there should be a "openid.assoc_handle=amzn_audible_lap_us" change the "us" at the end to "uk"
- finally just after this there is a bit that says "marketPlaceId=" followed by a 13 or 14 alphanumeric code, look in the second URL you copied and find the corresponding bit of code and copy and paste the marketPlaceId from that instead.
6. Paste the URL back into your browser should take you to UK login window and then when you login select the "click to return" link
Books should now play!

May 31, 2016 11:21 AM in response to TheCaffiendby Tanja R,Thank you soooo much. I have an account on the German version of audible and your solution worked for that as well. I'm so very grateful, and so is my son who can now listen to his books on his new ipod.

Aug 21, 2016 4:51 AM in response to TheCaffiendby Charlie_T67,THANK YOU!!! I just had to migrate to a new iMac after the HDD on my previous one died, and iTunes was the most painful part of the process. First the authorisation of my iTunes account took about two restarts and logout-login attempts to fix, then I ran into the issue with the Audible UK issue. Unfortunately all Audible could recommend was checking that the iMac region be set correctly. That, of course, had no effect. Apple need to allow users to select which Audible store they need to authorise through!
