Q: What is the best way to convert ProRes LT to Mp4

Compressor 4.2.2

OS X El Capitan

My requirement is to convert ProRes LT video files to mp4 files that will play on PC workstations.  The LT files should be reduced about 9-10 times from their original size.  Some of the presets were close but not quite there.  Thanks.

    In Compressor, you can use the MPEG-4 built in preset to start. Duplicate it and adjust your frame size, frame rate, bit rate and other settings in the Inspector. Save and name the settings as a custom preset.

     

    If you have FCP X, you can bypass Compressor altogether. Share > Master File; then choose Computer for Format and H.264 for codec.
