You don't import into FCP, so you can't tell it what library to go to. You send from iMovie, and it goes into a new library with the name of the iMovie library it came from. Once it's in FCP you can rename it. If you only have one, giant Biblioteca iMovie, that's the name that it will use every time you send from iMovie.

Yes... them to import into FCP, I have move to new FCP library to new organized

Tomorrow check all your answers because are 1:00AM to late for me Tomorrow tell you

    Hi Tom.

Well, to hour ago, I start to import from iMovie to FCP and I think all right.

Import from iMovie to FCP one event and one project to check first, and when you told me, I start to organize my libraries.

I creating my first FCP library (Biblioteca 2016). Import from iMovie, them copy project and event in appropiate folder (Gestión de etiquetas)

When I copy from "Biblioteca iMovie" to new library, FCP question me:

It ask me if I want to copy original contents in new library + optimized contents + proxy contents... What´s the difference? I know that I choice "optinized contents", the new library size is much larger ("Gestión de etiquetas" original size 128Mb, with "optimize contens" 3,2Gb)

With original contents, both library (iMovie and FCP) same size (left is iMovie original contents. Right is new "gestión de etiquetas")

You should read up on working with the application to get some basic knowledge.

Optimized files are high resolution, high data rate ProRes 422 files. Proxy files are low rez substitute files for editing.

Yes, don´t worry! I pointed to a great and large FCPX training to learn and study from basic to expert knowledge. The problem is that I like to ask a lot and get ahead, I´m sorry

My only priority was import all my libraries to FCPX to start training with all my material.

Yes, I read this. much codecs and format to transcoding files (depend of quality that you want)

I suppose that... if original files are low quality vídeo or photos, if apply optimized files, the final quality is poor... Only suppose...

Making it Prores won't improve the quality, but will help with editing and with color and effects work.

It looks like you're recording in Screenflow. Is that right? In which guess you should be recording in ProRes 4444, which is very high quality.

Yes, I read at moment that Apple ProRes is powerfull and the best solution to editing... ProRes is editing and H264 output is to final product (play). If FCP using H.264 to editing, is more slowly tham ProRes and less quality.

Yes using ScreenFlow to screen capture but using H.264+AAC (1080p/30fps) because I suppose that not necesary more quality tu capture display... I don´t know

    But ScreenFlow has more encoding:

    ProRes:

I use iPhone 6s video capture too with this properties (FCP video info)

I don´t know that film in mono and H264
