Try force restarting your watch: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo, then release them and wait for the watch to restart.

May 31, 2016 2:31 PM in response to irmafromhoustonby Jonathan UK,If your watch remains unresponsive, next try the following steps:
- Charge your watch for around 2.5 hours.
- After charging, if your watch has not already restarted automatically, remove it from the charger and:
- Try restarting it (by pressing and holding the side button until you see the Apple logo).
- Next try force restarting it: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the logo.
- If you see the Apple logo, but the display otherwise remains black after restarting, check whether VoiceOver and screen curtain are turned on:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver > if it is turned on, turn off VoiceOver.
- If the issue persists, contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch checked (if eligible, under warranty):
To contact Apple Support:
- Genius Bar information (US):
To check your warranty status (requires the serial number from the back of your watch):

Jun 2, 2016 7:45 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Charles Cunningham,This week I updated to 2.2.1 and I have experienced my 1st 2 blank screens. One occurred while I was wearing the watch. The other apparently occurred while charging. When I removed the watch from the charger it was unresponsive and only displayed a blank screen.
