Q: Messages language doesn't switch to default language on Appel Watch, just until new message is sent with the desired language used.

I don't know if this is a know bug, but I found this particular.

I send a message yesterday via messages on my iphone and I used the Spanish keyboard.

I didn't used the app for the rest of the day.

Today I answered a message to somebody with a emoji via the Appel Watch, but the reply options stayed in Spanish.

They changed back to my default language French after I send via iPhone a message with the correct language.

After this done, the options to reply via appel watch, were in french again.

Has this happened to anybody?

Is is a bug? Normal?

    Hi

To change the language for a reply on your Apple Watch, after tapping on Reply: press firmly on the screen, then tap on Choose Language to select a different language (including for dictation).

The default language for any given conversation in Messages on your watch is set to the same language as the active keyboard on your iPhone (in Messages) for that particular conversation. When you change the keyboard language for that conversation on your iPhone, it also changes on your Apple Watch.

To change the language for a conversation on your iPhone (and also on your watch):

    • Lock your iPhone (press the Sleep / Wake button briefly).
    • Open the conversation with that contact on your watch and tap on Reply.
    • On your iPhone, press the Sleep / Wake button briefly to display the Lock screen.
    • Towards the lower left corner of the Lock screen, swipe up on the Messages icon (where Handoff icons appear).
    • This will open that conversation in Messages on your iPhone.
    • Tap the globe symbol by the space bar on the iPhone keyboard and choose your preferred keyboard language.
      • To add international keyboards, on your iPhone first go to: Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard.
    • Start typing a reply on your iPhone (one or more characters), then delete it (this sets the keyboard language choice for that conversation).
    • On your watch, in the Messages app, Cancel out of the reply screen.
    • Start a new reply in that conversation - the new language will now be used for dictation and quick replies within that conversation.
