Q: can't restore
Hello All-
Please bear with me as I am not super tech-savy. I purchased an iPad 2 a few weeks ago. It worked great, but then it (I think) did an automatic update and asked for a passcode. I never set up a passcode for this iPad, so I was stuck. I searched around online and the Apple website said to do a restore on the iPad. I first checked to make sure iTunes was updated (it is) and so is my computer (a MacBook Pro). I followed the directions to do a hard restore from iTunes, but I get the message that "the device isn't eligible for the requested build." I'm going in circles trying to solve this and finding no solution in store. I followed the article given by Apple regarding that message and have had no luck. Please help - this is so frustrating.

Here is how to get the latest OS X version (El Capitan). Install it, then install all the updates from the App Store.
