Q: Restoring iPhone from older ITunes backup
I backed up my wife's iPhone on iTunes before getting a new iPhone. When I went to restore the backup on the new iPhone, somehow iTunes did a backup of the new iPhone. When I go into iTunes and do a "Restore from backup" the version available is the one of the backup of the new iPhone, not my wife's previous iPhone. Obviously not very useful.
Now I can go into the directory ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup and see the backup version I want to use. But I can't seem to get iTunes "Restore from backup" to give the option to select the backup version I want.
Any ideas on how to access this version would be much appreciated.

So I was searching around and found this solution to an iTunes/iPhone backup issue. I followed the instructions and it worked. My phantom backup appeared when I hit "Restore from backup" in iTunes.
