Q: Messenger push notifications disappear instantly

Hi!

The thing started after I bought a new Mac Air 13" and I have a problem now with my iPhone 5s (with updated freshly iOS). When I receive a message via Facebook the push notification disappears instantly (it visible for like not even 1 second on the locked screen)?

What is the problem? I have not touched any settings on either Mac (it's push notifications for Facebook active) nor my iPhone.

Also when I receive a message which contains the "thumbs up emoji" it shows itself as a weird question mark in a square on my iPhone and Mac as well.

I know it's detail but it is frustrating nonetheless.

The problem started before the newest update for the app (26th of May - for both apps actually) so I have serious doubts that the app/apps are faulty here.

Are you having issues with apps developed by any other developers that relate to push notifications? You've mentioned Facebook and Facebook Messenger.

If an app you installed unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open - Apple Support

It will be an issue resolved by troubleshooting from the developer end of the apps, not from Apple.

Facebook notifications are working flawlessly. The problem is only with Messenger notification - the app itself is working fine (it's not closing etc.) but notifications disappear instantly.
The app is updated to the latest version, also tried reinstalling it already but the problem still exist.

The FaceBook Messenger app update resolved this problem, I am no longer having this issue.

I have an iPhone 6s. My notifications from FB Messenger stopped working when I updated my phone to iOS 9.3.2.

I haven't had issues after the update, although my problem was intermittent before the update.

I want to also add my iPhone messenger app is also affected. I cannot see messages or notifications in my iPhone messenger application.
