Q: OS x Server Calendar invites and responses

We are running OSX Server v 5 / El Capitan in an environment with about 20 computers and users.  We have the calendar service running.  It works perfectly for anyone in the network.  As soon as we want to send an invitation to someone outside of our network the invitation goes no where.  Apple Enterprise support had us turn on the email server piece.  We use Rackspace to handle our email and have a dedicated address for the server.  This indeed worked but because Rackspace does not use "plus addressing" we created many new emails and addresses.  furthermore, none of the replies from outside the network are seen by the server.

So, I am asking for help with that piece.

The second piece that confuses me:  each employee has an account on the server and his/her own calendar on the server. Each person can add events and send invitations with responses that are registered.  This can all be done with out turning on the email server piece in Calendar.  Now to make this work for outside people I turn on the email portion and the invites get sent but the replies are not my email and as I have stated never get registered by the server.

I would like each employee to be able to manage their own calendar on the server and send and receive invites and replies as needed.  I know I am missing something and probably not completely explaining the issue.

Please help and fire away any questions you might need to help further explain.  IF indeed the Server cannot perform this task that is fine as well and I will not continue to try and figure this out.

IN addition, Apple first instructed us to buy a domain name.  Which we have now done!

Hi, We are also experiencing the same issues.

With one difference that we have managed to get it working on two other servers at other locations.

So we have three locations and at two of these locations the servers do what they are supposed to do, both sending and receiving invitations to appointments both locally and from outside the office on iPads, iPhones and laptops.

The new server I have just run up simply won't do remote/external invitations, however internal invitations work. I have copied and pasted below the error log from the server showing the error that is occurring. I am hoping somebody can tell me what I am doing incorrectly. Very weird as I think I copied the same processes from the last two installs.

I have done a entire reinstall of the server and reinstalled the latest system and server software. so System 10.11.5 and Server 5.1.5 the other severs I am running are also on the same software versions.

I have copied a little more of the error log below just incase the error is deeper than I thought.

That sounds like a real challenge.  We can get the invitations to send both internal and external using a dedicated email address from RackSpace.  The issue is that replies to not get back to the sender's calendar from any external people.  Furthermore, the reply to email is a jumbled mess of an address.

Good luck and hopefully someone with much better skills will reply.

An update:  I created a dedicated gmail address and it does work.  We thought it might be nice to use an icloud address so as not to mix platforms.  We cannot get the icloud address to work at all.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get the icloud settings to work that would be wonderful.

    Thanks,
