Q: El Capitain, Apple ID, Connection Doctor

I'm having issues with my mailbox after upgrading to El Capitain.

First, when I open my mailbox I always get a connection doctor pop-up screen that asks me to pick either my icloud or gmail account. How can I fix this problem? I want it to remain on gmail.

Second, I keep getting several 'Alerts' in my inbox. Somehow my iCalendar is synced to the inbox. How do I stop receiving the 'Alerts' through Apple? I prefer getting reminders through gmail.

Lastly, is it possible to change my icloud.com email to gmail.com for my Apple ID? I've changed it through apple support, but when it comes to signing in to different programs on my computer it still pops with the icloud.com email.

Thanks

Mac Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

    1. I don't use iCloud for anything, so I can't help you there, but I'm positive someone else can.

    2. Go to System Preferences --> Notifications and turn off Notifications for Calendar.

    3. Are you saying those programs still require the iCloud.com e-mail address, or the login box has it already filled in because you used to use that e-mail address in the past?

    2. I'll try that when I'm back home.

    3. The login box has it already filled in because I've used that email in the past. I can't change it in the pop-up box.

Just highlight it, delete it, and log in with the new information.
