Q: CanoScan 9000F - Yosemite

Since updating to Yosemite 10.10.1 my CanoScan 9000F scanner will no longer work with my MacBook Pro. I've tried the most up-to-date driver / software from Canon, as well as the older 3.1.0 version. No software will automatically download during Mac Software Update.

Any advice?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Not sure what "most up-to-date" software you have installed, but here is a link to the ICA driver. This ICA scanner driver will allow you to use Image Capture.

If you want to use Canon's MP Navigator v3.1.4 for Yosemite, then ensure you have installed the 9000F Scanner Driver v16.1.0a

If you have all of the above software installed, and you still cannot scan from Image Capture or MP Navigator, then please reply with what happens when you use either application.

Thanks! I had tried that, but I must have had a remnant file from an old install. I tried removing everything and then reinstalling and it finally worked.

Updating to MP Navigator 3.1.4 and the latest scanner drive v16.1.0 is working for me on El Capitan as suggested for Yosemite.

The one minor issue is that I cannot do my scans using the buttons on the scanner itself. I can use only the software user interface.
