Q: Burn .mov on disc

I can't find a better way to find out how many of my 836 .mov files I should copy on disc to start burning. I have to guess how many I have to copy first before I try to burn because it does not show the size of all files when I highlight a few of them. Thanks.

Firstly putting mov files on a disc will not make them playable by a normal DVD player as the mov format is different. However if you merely want to do this for either a backup or file transfer then read on.

You can find the total size of the mov files by either putting them all in a folder and then selecting the folder and then in the File menu selecting Get Info, this will show the total size of the folder and therefore the total size of those mov files. A second method is to select just the mov files you intend to copy so that they are all highlighted/selected at the same time, then while holding down the Control key again either go to the File menu and this time select 'Get Summary Info' or right click on anyone of the highlighted/selected items and this will show a drop down menu with the option of 'Get Summary Info'.
