Q: Problems with copying backup

New time capsule, trying to copy the backups to the new airport. Instructions from Apple Support site seem simple, but I am missing something. I suspect it is how I am connected to the time capsule, 99% of the time it is through wifi.

This is the link to the apple site that I am using for the instructions.

https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht204078

I am able to connect the original airport time capsule base stations per the first 2 steps.

I am able to stop the back-ups on the original airport time capsule

I am able to complete steps 1-3 of "Copy you backups to the new Airport Time Capsule"

However, I have no clue what step 4 means.  After step 3 in the finder window I see a yellow folder called data.  If I double click on data, does that complete step 4?  If I double click on data the finder window is titled "data" at the top center, but there isn't anything in the main window (name, date modified, etc.)

"Step 4 Mount the original AirPort Time Capsule volume in the Finder by double-clicking it"

So if that is correct, and I proceed to step 5, 6, and 7, I end up with the same thing on the new airport tc finder window.

I don't see anything titled backup disk image to drag over.   I do not know what I am missing.  The only thing I suspect is that I am connected to the tc by wifi versus through the Ethernet cable, which is connected.  (I have an Ethernet cable connected directly from my org time capsule to my mac.  But unless I have the wifi turned on, I do not see my tc).

Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I do not see a green light on my LAN port on the time capsule. This tells me that even though it is connected, it is not working. I have tried looking through apple support for solutions.  But there has to be an easy way to get the Ethernet to work without being a network guru.

So I now have a green LAN light, and can see my time capsule.  But I still have questions. So back to the original question about copying the old to the new.

When I click on the time capsule (when connected via Ethernet) I see a yellow folder called Data. Data is called a sharepoint under kind.

When I double click on data now, Finder shows the contents on my time machine which are as follows:
-"lizardson's MacBook"  it is a sparse bundle
-"lizardson's MacBook 1"  it is a sparse bundle

-3 or 4 folders that I created to copy things from my non-apple computer to the time machine

I also noticed that after I have double clicked on Data I see an icon on the desktop called Data (with the icon that represents the data on a time capsule).

So I am not sure I am completing step 4 (and step 8 for the new one) correctly.

Then - What exactly is the backup disk image that I am clicking and dragging over to the new one?  I understand how to click and drag.  Am I dragging everything that is in the Data folder?
