iTunes credit is not a valid payment method - think of it more as a supplemental payment method. Should that balance run out, Apple still needs to collect their money, so they need a valid payment method on file.

Jun 4, 2016 11:52 PM in response to stevejobsfan0123by pachyx,I understand what you are saying. I have a valid credit card on my iTunes account. My concern is why is apple tv asking for my credit card info when my Apple id that I use for my iTunes account already has it. And I use it to purchase thorough iTunes, the App store and for my additional iCloud storage monthly charge. These all work fine using my Apple ID account balance. So why does Apple TV need me to enter credit card info when Apple iCloud and my Apple id already have it?

Jun 5, 2016 1:36 AM in response to pachyxby Winston Churchill,Try the following steps for the Apple TV 4, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
- Restart the Apple TV (Settings > System > Restart).
- Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
- Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
- Reset the Apple TV (Settings > System > Reset > Reset all settings)
- Restore the Apple TV (Settings > System > Reset > Restore)
