Q: 10.6.8 Snow Leopard Installation Discs Required to Repair Startup Disc

Hi Guys,

I ran OnyX on my old MacBook Pro 3,1 (Black, late 2007 I think) for cleaning purposes and to speed the machine up as much as possible.

OnyX ran a check on my hard disc and decided that it needs repairing and that I should use my OS installation discs to do that. Now, the Snow Leopard installation discs that I have is 10.6.3, but I have since been updated to 10.6.8 and that's what I'm currently on.

How do I get the 10.6.8 installation discs?

I have checked my Purchases tab in App Store, but 10.6.8 is not there.

Any help / advice / guidance will be greatly appreciated.

You don't need those, and none of them are intended for your Mac model. Use the 10.6.3 ones.

Hi Niel,

1. So, you're saying that I should be on 10.6.3 and not on 10.6.8?
2. After running the repair, would that bring my OS X back to 10.6.3?
