My external hard drive lights up and I can hear it running but that's it. Any ideas. I'm devastated more

Jun 5, 2016 8:00 AM in response to Sunnydelmarby Duane,Unfortunately vacuums become very statically charged and using them inside of electronic devices is usually not a good idea. It is very possible that static discharge has damaged your iMac.
I'm hoping that you unplugged the iMac before cleaning. Make sure that the iMac is plugged back in.
Take the iMac into the nearest Apple store for evaluation.

I would try reinstalling/reseating the RAM modules, as per > Install memory in an iMac - Apple Support
