Q: assigning a switch or knob to 2 channel strips ?

hello !

I was wondering if it's possible to assign a controller that could mute one channel strip and at the same time un-mute another one in the same patch ?

thanks

    Hi

    Yes

Simply create one assignment that mutes one channel strip, then add a second assignment that mutes the other. Invert the parameter range for one of them.

One other suggestion. If you find you are using too many resources using this method instead of muting the channel strip you can enable and disable the synth for each channel strip. This will reduce processor load by unloading them from memory when you aren't using them.

    Hey CCMT

i tried to figure out what you suggested but I can't seem to understand how 1 button can send a midi CC to 2 different destinations simultaneously.

When I create the " mute button " on the layout mode , I then go to edit mode of the patch i need to assign the mute command .

Then I select that " button " in the assignment and mapping tab in the patch i need to work on .

I can select that button to mute a channel strip but I don't see how I can " add " the same button to complete the other action which would be to " unmet " the other channels trip

This what I have going on . I have a channel strip with a marcato string patch and another one with a Pizzicato patch and I need to " toggle " between both of them with a single button press . It's basically a layer of 2 sounds but one would be muted and when i press the button , the other sound would unmet and the first sound would mute etc..

any help would be greatly appreciated

    many thanks

    Hi

    As per my original post

You need to add a second mapping by clicking on the +

    Add new mapping.jpg

Then, map this to mute the second channel strip.

Both will now mute/unmute at the same time.

To get them to switch from one to the other, you need to invert one of the mappings

    Map to mute and invert.jpg
