Photos for MacYou can try the troubleshooting steps in If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad aren't working as expected - Apple Support. You may need to temporarily use a USB wired keyboard.

Jun 6, 2016 8:04 AM in response to rkaufmann87by alexander.carpenter,It's a 2003 KB, that I paired with my Mac when I first got it (8-digit code) last week and it connected. The batteries are at 85% (but that varied) and it worked for a while. Now it won't connect. The wireless mouse works perfectly and connects during boot. I tried all the pointers in the help notes, but the new old KB won't connect anymore. The green light on the bottom next to the switch comes on and then goes off, or won't come on at all...
I do have (and use) a USB KB, to type this message, but the old KB has a better action and I prefer it.

Photos for MacWell the only thing I can suggest is ensuring the computer is as up-to-date as possible. If it is and the keyboard will still not work, then you may be forced into replacing it. If you do decide to do that, OWC (www.macsales.com) sells them used and they are guaranteed to work.
