Q: Comparison In Preview Area Has Large Level Shift?

Hi All,

Looking at images in the preview area, the before / after, i.e. left / right sides of the white slider have a big level shift, even when using the exact same CODEC. For example, take a short clip of SMPTE color bars in ProRes 4:2:2 HQ into compressor, apply the ProRes 4:2:2 HQ settings to it and slide the white bar back and forth. This displays a very large level change. Yet when you compare the file Compressor outputs to the original file the level change is not there.  Pasted below is an image capture of the preview area and then a split screen of the output file to demonstrate.

So this appears to be an issue with the preview area, not output.  Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a work around?

Tnx,

Dean

And here is split screen of the original file compared to the output of compressor (white line added for clarity):
